Bored? Broke? Go old school...

Stuck for something to do this summer? With the two dominating climate issues (environmental and economic) ruining our chances for a long, hot summer, we must revert back to the simple pleasures we used to enjoy as kids. Hit your local market with 50p and stock up on some penny sweets. Myself and Miss Peel certainly enjoyed a nostalgic mix of jellied fruit, cola bottles, white chocolate mice and milk bottles. With the change from your sweet pickings, why not hit the slot machines or other arcade games? We enjoyed cardiac-benefiting games of 'Whack the Croc' for the hefty sum of 20p - your summer fun needn't cost the earth.

Even the cat needed a holiday...

On our weekend break to the small town of Settle, our furry child came with us. She has been a bit under the weather recently, but coming with us and getting some country air seems to have done her the world of good. My boyfriend snapped her conked out after running around non stop for 4 days!

The pics above are of the worlds smallest art gallery - official! The residents of Upper Settle 'adopted' their old red kiosk and have turned it into a miniature gallery, complete with a mosaic in the entrance and a visitors book.

Too damn cool...

There are moments in life, when you realise that your mum/dad is actually too cool to be acceptable. Such an occasion arose when I popped back to my Mum's for a BBQ. I caught her preparing the salad avec Ray Bans and a pinny declaring the slogan "I don't do housework on days that end in 'Y'". I thought she looked so fabulous so I had to photograph her. Also notice the dog in the bottom right, waiting hopeful for a stray potato.
